About JamboKids
JamboKids was launched in late October 2007 by a husband and wife team who were looking for fun and effective ways to inspire and encourage their young son and daughter they adopted from China. Their goals were to help their children appreciate their cultural heritage, recognize and develop their unique talents and gifts, and build the strengths of character that would help them meet life's challenges in a global world.
However, not much existed in their age group in the form of a fun all-in-one solution that incorporated a toy or dolls that looked like them, included storybooks about child characters whom they could relate to who met life’s challenges in positive and uplifting ways, and was based on leading-edge research in the areas of childhood character development.
It was out of this need to celebrate cultural diversity, promote positive childhood character development, and provide useful tools to parents that the idea for JamboKids was born. JamboKids products are now available to anyone who is interested in helping children grow up with a positive self-image and the strengths of character that will help them live good lives and succeed in an increasingly culturally diverse world.

Our Philosophy
At JamboKids, we belief that one of the most important things we can do for our children is to help them acquire values and skills that they can rely on throughout their lives. In doing so, they will have the best chance to lead good lives as individuals and as citizens of their communities.
Just as children must be taught to tie their shoes, read and write, solve math problems, and understand science concepts and events in history, so must they be guided in developing the qualities of character that are valued by their families and by the communities in which they live.
Here are some additional observations that guided the creation of the JamboKids multicultural dolls, adventure storybooks, and educational resources for parents:
- Ages 3 to 8 are some of the most important and formative years of children’s lives.
- Kids need positive role models who can relate to them on their level.
- Educators and others interested in helping children grow up with a positive self-image and good character need the proper tools to promote positive childhood character development.
- Parents and caregivers these days are looking for toys and children’s products that are wholesome. Parents want positive role models, educational dolls and toys, and products that promote strong values.
- Now that 45 percent of U.S. children under age 5 are part of a racial minority, children need additional skills for building character strengths and coping with the increased globalization of our society.
- Let’s face it – raising and growing up to be a global kid today is tough. Our kids will inherit a global world, and will need a diverse set of skills to be successful in life.
At JamboKids, we are interested in having fun and promoting the qualities of character that are universally recognized by people around the world. Our research has drawn us to focus on what is right about people and specifically about the strengths of character that help them live good lives and be successful in a global world.
